Economic, Politics and War
The president doesn't have a friend in the world but for the stary-eyed fanatics that adore his unprincipled actions in the Middle East. His thinking is flawed because it will not let him deviate from the trainwreck he has imposed on the United States.

The $10,000 reward, by Doonsbury, for information leading to the verification of Bush in the ANG (the political campaign year) has not been collected as far as I can tell. Don't you think that if you had rubbed up against a US President some time in your life that you would brag it up to your acquaintences? Well, maybe not, considering his current popularity. Maybe nobody saw Bush in Alabama because he wasn't there. Maybe he was hidden away for some unknown reason only his family knows. Would you vote for someone who had been at some Swiss clinic?

Push Polling at it's best. Thank you Karl Rove.

Greenspan is out of his mind. After agreeing to tax cuts for the rich and turning a blind eye to the budget deficits of the current administration, Greenspan has stated that Social Security benefits be cut. The administration has agreed with him. Specifically, medicaid, which is soaring out of control for those who will need it most. The time has come for a change in thinking in Washington D.C. No longer can we igore the health of this nations people so that a greedy neoconservative group is able to live like kings. We need to remove the twisted and self-centered minds that breed in the swamps in and around Washington D.C.

ADM, "Creating a world of possibilities from a single seed." a company with a rich, dynamic history and a commitment to the earth, and all of the people who call it home. Feed the hungry.

Pfizer, "We dedicate ourselves to humanity's quest for longer, healthier, happier lives through innovation in pharmaceutical, consumer and animal health products." Heal the sick.

The heads of mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac assured senators Wednesday that their collapse was unlikely, a day after Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan warned they could pose a threat to the U.S. financial system if their ability to assume new debt isn't restrained. House the homeless.

There won't be enough prison cells for the warlords, corporate thieves, and moneylenders if they allow the people of the United States and the world to suffer under their bloodshed, incompetance and avarice.

Employment

She applied for nearly 200 hundred jobs this past year and has been collecting  unemployment. She is an IT professional with 25 years of experience and has held some incredible positions over time. She was once the only person on the West Coast that could defrag the Wang hard drives. She has programmed, managed and built many networks, but one thing that stands out, is while she was working as the IT manager for a company of 200 users, introduced VOIP to that company (it paid off in 3 years), designed the Win2K upgrade, she was unable to network with others in the IT industry. When the company she worked for downsized, she was terminated because of her salary. Her assistant was kept on at a salary of $54,000. This was a savings of only $20,000 but the other benefits may have added up to the same as a full time employee.

The important point that I am making here is that she was employed for 25 years. During the last twelve years she was isolated. She was happy with her job and did not associate with other IT professionals or other businesses outside her company. The idea of talking to other IT professionals in other companies similar to hers was not really looked on with approval. There is the confidentially problem to consider and as most IT professionals know, small companies can recruit new people with ease. The opportunity for networking with other IT professions or business may have been seen as looking for a new position. That was wrong. She should have openly and consistently networked with other IT professions, businesses and business people who could have helped each other in their professions.

We will be actively networking with other employers, people and businesses. Not job, no matter how long you have worked in the organization, how strong your union is can be considered secure in today's economy.

Economic, Politics and War

Yesterday, I emailed all of the Washington State legislatures in my district, Belltown in Seattle. I requested their attention to the Personnel System Reform Act of 2002, which will totally revamp the classification and compensation structure of all the departments in the State. Specifically, I requested their attention toward the definition of "overtime" pay. As it stands now, one receives overtime pay for any time after eight hours in a twenty-four hour period. As the Department of Personnel rewrites the section, overtime would only be paid after forty hours of work even if you had a holiday in the week. Managers would have the option of sending you home before you could accumulate any overtime. Now, overtime, as I understand, is an incentive for the employer to hire more workers, not work employees more. It is penalty for employers to pay time and one half for working on holidays. In short, it is a deterrent that limits the employer from exploiting the workers.

NASCAR
Dale Earnhardt Jr., won the Daytona 500 today and he didn't oursource any of the effort that went into this impressive and important victory. Oursourcing, are we really getting the news presented to us correctly? When MSNBC used a company in Redmond to proof and edit their web pages, we would never have this type of writing. " Then he climbed back into the No. 8 Chevrolet and attempted a few doughnuts in the grass — just like his father after the 1998 race." He didn't attempt a few doughnuts, he executed some mighty fine ones on the grass.

SciFi

Now this may be the best show on television this year.

Bush at Sea. One of the paragraphs talks about how Rumsfield modified the military's plans to include a light and fast operation. It is as though Rumsfield knew that Iraq had no WMDs.
