Two individuals wanted by State Police in Watertown were located and arrested in the Village of Ilion Thursday night.

About a month ago, a gas war began in Ilion as a new Fast Track gas station and convenience store opened with low prices, and a nearby Stewart's station followed suit.

And then there were three. More than a week after a four school district merger was voted down by one Herkimer County community, the other three involved say they'll continue on the path toward sharing services.

The polls close at 8 p.m. on Thursday night as a straw poll on the proposed merger between Herkimer, Mohawk, Frankfort-Schuyler and Ilion School districts went before voters.

After a record number of votes cast, the proposal to merge four Herkimer County schools has passed in Ilion, but will not go further because of rejection in Frankfort-Schuyler. In Ilion, the final numbers are 1,221 yes to 755 no.
