A Facebook picture posting of a Nevada woman wanted on warrants for prostitution in three counties led to her arrest in Coarsegold on Friday, the Madera County Sheriff's Department said.

The Placer County coroner said the man's body was spotted by a hiker late Tuesday morning floating in the North Fork of the American River.

The 31-year-old man was arrested after he called the sheriff's department saying he got drunk on Saturday night and assaulted a child at a home in North Fork, sheriff's spokeswoman Erica Stuart said.

Madera County Sheriff's deputies arrested Jose Burgos who called the Sheriff's Department shortly after 1:30 p.m. Monday afternoon, saying that he got drunk Saturday night and evidently assaulted a child at a home in North Fork.

As the rain fell outside, a full house at the North Fork Town Hall gave a standing ovation to Vince and Ginny Smith as they were named the 2011 Citizens of the Year.

A 17-year-old North Fork girl is facing assault charges following a stabbing during a booze fest at a campsite off Beasore Road near Bass Lake late Monday night.
