Charges of robbery and use of a firearm were dismissed against 23-year-old Cardell Mears of Accomac, who entered a plea of not guilty in a bench trial.

The Board of Supervisors voted to close the last remaining greenbox site in Accomack County near Wachapreague despite an impassioned plea by the supervisor who represents the area to provide equitable treatment for residents of southern Accomack County.

Mayor Dan Bilicki of Wachapreague asked the Accomack County Board of Supervisors to help the town find a way to get badly needed dredging done in areas offshore from the town.
